How to fix: About / credentials page linked
Part of the Content Quality pillar on the Site Integrity Index.
Why this matters
Buyers in high-trust niches (legal, accessibility, security) click About / Team before evaluating the offer. No visible link to a credentials page in the primary nav costs conversions before the buyer even reads what you do.
Background
What it checks: the page links to an /about page that establishes who's behind the site, with `Organization` schema. Why it matters: AI systems and search engines both use the /about page as a trust anchor when deciding whether to cite a source — especially for compliance and security content where credibility matters.
References
Editorial content-quality signal — E-E-A-T heuristic; AI systems use /about pages as trust anchors when deciding citation eligibility.
How to fix
Link to /about from the byline or footer, and make sure that page itself has real detail — not a placeholder — plus `Organization` JSON-LD. Include the founder or team's credentials, business address, registration number where applicable, and a photo or logo. A stub /about page hurts trust more than none at all.
Verify it's working
Visit /about. If it doesn't identify a real person, organisation, or team with checkable details, expand it before this check will clear.
